While the findings suggest some potential benefits for athletic performance the included studies are small, very hetrogeneous with only 7 studies being at low risk of bias. This eview of the effectiveness of effervescent tablets in the cleaning and sanitising of removable prostheses included 23 RCTs. Six RCTs contributed to meta-analyses which indicate that use of brushing and effervescent tables reduce biofilm and bacterial conts more than brushing alone.

This review investigating whether the presence of third molars during sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible increases the risk of complications included 15 studies. The findings suggests no statistically significant relationship between the presence of 3Ms and complications. However a majority of the studies were retrospective with 13 studies being considered to be at high risk of bias so the certainty of the evidence is considered to be very low.
