This review investigating the incidence of and influential factors on pulp necrosis and periapical pathosis of vital teeth following indirect restorations included 37 studies. The findings suggest an overal incidence of pulpal necrosis of 5.02% (3.70 to 6.52%).

Thibault Colloc in his first blog for the Dental Elf looks at this review comparing gingival displacement with conventional cords and cordless techniques. The findings suggest that the sulcus width displacement is increased with cord technique compared to cordless technique but the available studies are all at high risk of bias.

This review of difference designs of laminate veneers included 8 studies demonstrating no difference between those with incisal coverage and those without. However the studies were small and there was a great deal of variation so the results should be interpreted cautiously.
