This review of the prevalence of orofacial trauma in wheeled non-motor sports athletes included 5 cross-sectional studies involving 132,132 participants. Analyses showed the overall prevalence of orofacial trauma = 21.7% (95%CI; 8.7 to 34.7%) however the evidence was of very low certainty.

Ultrasound for the differential diagnosis of periapical lesions

While the findings suggest good levels of sensitifity and specificity for diagnosing periapical cysts and granulomasthere are concerns regarding the quality of the evidence.

Irreversible pulpitis: Do larger volumes of local anaesthetic improve success of inferior alveolar nerve blocks?

This review of the efficacy of 1.8 and 3.6 mL of the same anaesthetic solution for inferior alveolar nerve blocks (IANBs) for treating mandibular teeth with irreversible pulpitis included 4 RCTs (280 teeth). The findings show arger volumes of local anaesthetic solutions significantly increase the success rate of IANBs.

This review the outcome of direct pulp capping (DPC) in mature permanent teeth with a cariously exposed pulp and a clinical diagnosis of reversible pulpitis included 14 studies. The findings suggest that direct pulp capping is generally a clinically effective procedure in teeeth with reversible pulpitis.
