In this new blog Rrbecca Manson looks at a review of the factors associated with determining access to dental care among refugees worldwide. Nine observational studies were included and a number of factors influencing access at an individual level are identified.

This review of the association of oral health literacy with oral health behaviours and dental treatment related outcomes included 25 studies the majority being cross-sectional in nature. The available evidence is limited and further high quality studies are needed.

This scoping review identified 14 oral health literacy tools identified 14 tools but most were biased to word recognition rather than health behaviours and service utilisation. Recently tools have incorporated incorporate other aspects considered important, including decision making and service navigation.
