Su-Gwan is a Research Associate at the University of Manchester. Her research areas include suicide and self-harm. Some recent studies that she has worked on in her role at the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Safety and Mental Health (NCISH) include examining suicide by children and young people, and suicide by middle-aged men.
