Pauline is a Research Assistant at the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Safety in Mental Health, University of Manchester. She completed a MSc in Forensic Psychology and Mental Health at the University of Manchester and developed an interest in suicide and suicide bereavement research while completing her Master’s dissertation. Pauline’s areas of interest include suicide and self-harm in vulnerable clinical groups, public health interventions for suicide, suicide bereavement and postvention, and translational research.
Pauline Rivart summarises a national cohort study of ethnicity and suicide in England and Wales, which presents a “paradoxical finding of a lower rate of suicide in almost all minority ethnic groups compared with the White British majority”.
