Elisha is a second-year PhD student at the University of Bristol and is a recipient of the University of Bristol Scholarship. She is passionate about conducting mental health research, particularly focusing on self-harm and suicide in South Asia. For her PhD, she aims to explore the impacts of self-harm and suicide in South Asia. Her goals include conducting a systematic review to measure self-harm in South Asia, analyzing police suicide data to observe trends in suicide in Nepal, and assessing the impact of exposure to suicidal behavior among family and community members using datasets from Sri Lanka. Prior to her PhD, she worked for over six years as a public health researcher in Nepal after completing her master’s degree in nursing, where she gained extensive experience as a qualitative researcher. Elisha is interested in self-harm and suicide across different demographics.
