Edel is a Lecturer in Psychology at Ulster University. Her current research programmes focus on how digital technologies may be applied to promoting help seeking for mental health difficulties and suicidal thoughts and behaviours. Edel has a keen interest in college students as a unique population, and she is part of the team involved in the Northern Ireland component of the WHO World Mental Health International College Student (WMH-ICS) Initiative.
