Caroline is a Senior Lecturer and Social Worker based at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she is the Programme Lead for the Advanced Social Work Award (Care Act Implementers). For eight years she taught at the University of Manchester on the MSc in Applied Mental Health (incorporating AMHP and BIA). Before working as an academic Caroline was a Community Mental Team Manger and Approved Social Worker and has over twenty years experience in mental health. She reviews for the BJSW, Qualitative Social Work, Practice and a variety of publishers. Caroline strongly advocates research informed practice that is applied for the benefit of the people who need support and interventions from social care and health based services.
Caroline Leah publishes her debut blog on crisis care for people with mental health issues, which concludes that better quality evidence is needed to support the overall effectiveness of crisis care interventions.
