Briony is a Research Manager at Doctors of the World, part of the Médecins du Monde network. DOTW runs a clinic, adviceline, outreach services and advocacy programmes that provide medical care, information and practical support to excluded people such as destitute migrants, sex workers and people with no fixed address. Briony conducts both qualitative and quantitative research on data collected by DOTW, supporting internal reporting and collaborative projects with academic institutions. With over 15 years of experience in research and data analysis, Briony has worked for charities, local government entities, and universities on a range of critical issues, including homelessness prevention and social isolation. Since joining DOTW, her research has focused on maternity rights for migrants with insecure immigration status, and healthcare access for individuals residing in initial accommodation. She is interested in health issues experienced by vulnerable populations, in particular refugees and migrants with insecure immigration status. Briony has a specialist interest in maternity rights and public health issues.

Briony Tatem considers a study in The Lancet, which explores the effect of immigration policy reform on mental health in people from minoritised ethnic groups in England, using longitudinal data from the UK Household Longitudinal Study cohort.
